The questions the office is asked most often about joining the Kindergarten section.
Before you apply
When do admissions open?
Admissions for the next academic year begin in November. It is worth contacting the school before then, so we can tell you when forms are available.
How old does my child need to be?
Age criteria are set for each academic year in line with State Board rules, so the cut-off date moves. Please ask the admissions team for the dates that apply to your child rather than working from last year’s.
Is there an entrance test?
No. There is no entrance test at kindergarten level. Admission is based on age eligibility and seat availability.
Can I apply online?
No. Admission forms are collected and submitted in person at the school office. You can send an enquiry through this website at any time and the admissions team will contact you and guide you through what is needed.
Which documents will I need?
Usually your child’s birth certificate, recent photographs, proof of address and, where applicable, a transfer certificate. The admissions team will confirm the full list for your child.
Can we see the school before we apply?
Yes. Please telephone the office on +91 98927 03893 to arrange a time. Coming to see the classrooms and the play area, and meeting the teachers, tells you more than any page here can.
Once your child has a place
What are the school timings?
Jr. KG runs from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Sr. KG runs from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
What are the fees?
The fee for Jr. KG and Sr. KG is ₹65,000. Please confirm the current figure, what it covers and how it is paid with the school office before you apply.
Is there a minimum attendance requirement?
Yes — we ask for a minimum of 75% attendance across the year. Regularity matters more at this age than at any later stage, because so much of the early years is routine.
Is food provided?
There is a pure vegetarian canteen on the campus, with food prepared on site.
Which board does the Kindergarten follow?
SIWS follows the Maharashtra State Board curriculum, and the Kindergarten years prepare children for it.
