The cookies this site uses
Grouped by the categories in our cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always on; the others are only set if you allow them.
Strictly necessary
Needed for the site to work — remembering your text-size and contrast choice, keeping forms secure, and storing this consent itself. These are always on and cannot be switched off.
| Name | Set by | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| siws-cookie-consent | SIWS (this website) | Remembers the cookie choice you made, and the anonymous reference it is recorded under, so we do not ask again on every page. | 1 year |
| siws_text_size, siws_contrast | SIWS (this website) | Remember the text size and high-contrast setting you chose in the accessibility controls. | 1 year |
| siws-dismissed-notices | SIWS (this website) | Remembers which general notices at the top of the page you closed, so they stay closed. | Until you close your browser |
| googtrans | SIWS, for Google Translate | Set only when you choose a language in the top bar, to remember that choice. Choosing a language also loads Google Translate, which may set cookies of its own. | 1 year, or until you switch back to English |
| payload-token | SIWS (this website) | Keeps school staff signed in to the admin panel. Never set for visitors to the website. | 2 hours |
Analytics
Helps us see which pages are read so we can improve them. We do not use analytics to build a profile of you, and never for children.
This website does not currently set any cookies in this category.
Embedded media
Lets videos, social media posts and maps load directly on the page. These come from YouTube, Instagram and Google, who may set their own cookies. Without this you will see a link to the content instead.
| Name | Set by | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| NID and related Google cookies | Google Maps | Set by Google when a map on our contact pages loads. | Set by Google — up to 6 months |
| YSC, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE and related | YouTube | Set by YouTube when a live telecast or video loads on the page. | Set by YouTube — from the end of your session up to 6 months |
| Google account and player cookies | Google Drive | Set by Google when you play one of our event videos. | Set by Google |
| csrftoken, mid, ig_did and related | Instagram (Meta) | Set by Instagram when our Instagram posts load on the page. | Set by Instagram — up to 1 year |
Changing your choice
Choose “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page. Your choice is cleared and the cookie banner appears again, so you can choose differently — withdrawing takes one click, the same as agreeing did.
Until you allow embedded media, videos, maps and social posts are not loaded at all: you will see a link to open them on the provider’s own site instead.
Every choice is recorded in our consent register under an anonymous reference kept in your browser. It does not identify you.
